Sony Ericsson W800i

The K750 was the precursor to Sony Ericsson's Walkman branded series of phones, which officially began with the W800. The only differences between the W800 and the K750 are the design and the firmware (and the bundled accessories). The upgraded firmware provides a 'walkman-only' mode which may be useful when listening on a plane (or when you just don't want to be disturbed), and it also improves the interface for the music player...

The chassis is essentially the same, but instead of having a quick-access menu button above the joystick, there is a 'Walkman' button which brings you straight to the player. This is hardly necessary though, as there is a music button on the left side of both the K750 and W800, and you can also configure the joystick to activate the music player using a shortcut.

Another small difference is that the W800 has a small slider that opens the shutter on the camera, whereas the K750 requires you to slide the larger shutter component directly. Which is better is largely a matter of personal preference, but some people have remarked that the K750 shutter sometimes opens accidentally when removing the phone from their pocket.

In terms of accessories, the W800 comes with a 512MB memory stick, which is much more useful for music purposes. It also has a better set of headphones than the K750, which double as a handsfree set and also allow the insertion of any pair of standard headphones via a 3.5mm socket.
